WHO IS ALAN HAYNES?
I've been a California resident for over 59 years. I now live in northern San Diego county.
I have a BS degree in Information Systems which came in handy in my former career with "the phone company." It changed names many times over my 26 years with them and it's now known as AT&T.
I'M A TRAVEL PHOTOGRAPHER
I've been photographing seriously for over 21 years. My primary camera is a Nikon SLR, but I also use an Olympus micro 4/3 camera, and my cell phone.
My images are licensed through my stock photography agency, Alamy.com. They've been used in various media all over the world.
Travel photography is my main interest. I love traveling the world to create interesting images. I've photographed all 50 states in the USA. Some of my favorite foreign destinations are Iceland, Canada, France, and the Netherlands.
I enjoy learning new techniques and one of the best ways to do that is to try new things. So, I've created images in most photographic genres including landscapes, wildlife, abstracts, still-life, portraits, black-and-white and more.
I'M A COMPUTER GEEK
I've been working with computers for a few decades now: well before the invention of the "personal" computer. I've programmed them, built them and used them for all sorts of tasks.
I've found that many of my students have never learned to use all the features of their computers. I can help you learn how to use your computer to its fullest, even if it's not photography related. I use a Windows computer, but I also speak fluent Mac.
I'M AN Adobe LIGHTROOM TEACHER
I love Lightroom and I can help you love it too. I've been using Lightroom since the first version in 2007.
My specialty is one-on-one training tailored to your needs and skills. I've been doing this for several years now and have many happy clients. I've also led occasional Lightroom workshops for camera clubs and the like.
Some of my students want to learn everything about Lightroom so we schedule weekly sessions for several months or even longer. Others only need to be pointed in the right direction, so one or two sessions is all they need. I'm flexible. I've taught experienced photographers, novices and semi-pros.
My teaching style is easy-going, fun, and focused on you. You'll drive while I coach you. You'll learn a lot faster with this hands-on approach than you would by watching me do everything.
I can also help you with your photography. Working on your images with an experienced photographer at your side is an excellent way to learn composition and camera settings. I will even help you set up your camera and learn to use it better if you'd like.
Whatever your experience level in photography or computers, I will help you succeed in making better photos and working on them in Lightroom.
Contact me when you're ready to get started. I look forward to hearing from you.
